I haven't done a secret pal exchange for quite some time. The very first one I did, about 2 years ago, was such fun, I decided it's time to give it a go again. Here's my questionairre:
1. What is/are your favorite yarn/s to knit with? What fibers do you absolutely *not* like? there are too many "favorites" to list here, but I love merino/bamboo blends and merino/silk blends!
2. What do you use to store your needles/hooks in? flower vases
3. How long have you been knitting & how did you learn? Would you consider your skill level to be beginner, intermediate or advanced? I've been knitting for about 6 years. My first class was for the Fiber Trends felted clogs. I've been an addict since! I would say, I'm probably at the intermediate level.
4. Do you have an Amazon or other online wish list? no
5. What's your favorite scent? lavender or jasmine
6. Do you have a sweet tooth? Favorite candy? without a doubt. Love chocolate with nuts and I love cookies.
7. What other crafts or Do-It-Yourself things do you like to do? Do you spin? I don't spin yet, but I do weave, quilt and scrapbook
8. What kind of music do you like? Can your computer/stereo play MP3s? (if your buddy wants to make you a CD) I've got very eclectic tastes. I llllooovvveee jazz, but I also like classic rock, R&B, classical, celtic...the list goes on.
9. What's your favorite color(s)? Any colors you just can't stand? I love all colors, except for anything that could glow in the dark. Favorites.....muted shades of pink, aquas and purples.
10. What is your family situation? Do you have any pets? married with 2 small boys (4 & 6), 2 Bichon Frises
11. Do you wear scarves, hats, mittens or ponchos? Hats & Mittens. Some scarves, no ponchos.
12. What is/are your favorite item/s to knit? socks and lace
13. What are you knitting right now? More like, what am I NOT knitting right now. Currently on the needles are 2 sweaters, 3 pairs of socks, 1 lace scarf and some fingerless mitts.
14. Do you like to receive handmade gifts? Love them!
15. Do you prefer straight or circular needles? Bamboo, aluminum, plastic? I use circular for anything that I can. Otherwise, bamboo straights
16. Do you own a yarn winder and/or swift? yep
17. How old is your oldest UFO? Fetchings that I'm making for a friend. I missed getting them done for Christmas last year, so my new deadline is December 20 of this year.
18. What is your favorite holiday? What winter holiday do you observe? Without a doubt, Christmas!
19. Is there anything that you collect? pin cushions and vintage buttons
20. Any books, yarns, needles or patterns out there you are dying to get your hands on? What knitting magazine subscriptions do you have? I subscribe to Cast On, Vogue Knitting and Interweave Knits. As for yarn, who wouldn't love to get their hands on some Wollmeise. I'd also love to try some Handmaiden Seasilk
21. Are there any new techniques you'd like to learn? stranded knitting. I've done some, but need oodles more practice
22. Are you a sock knitter? What are your foot measurements? sock knitter - yep! I wear a size 9 shoe
