As a "creative spirit", I often see things when I'm out and about, that provide great inspiration for new colorways. That said, I carry around a note pad (or 2) every where I go, to record my ideas/thoughts. Most times, I am able to create the new colorways, exactly as I had envisioned.....but not always. Over the last month or so, I've had a hard time getting my vision onto the yarn. We've had so much going on with the kids, I think I was experiencing a bit of "color block" (much like writer's get "writer's block"). At those times, it just seems impossible to get the creative juices flowing. I should know by now, not to try to force it.....to just walk away and come back to the dye pots at another time. But for some reason, I couldn't resist, and sadly, experienced much frustration.
I'm happy to report, the tides turned yesterday! The colors were just singing in the studio and we had a fabulous day, creating about a dozen new colorways. Here's a little sampling.....
Currently, these are all done on a fingering weight base, but we will be playing with the lace yarn next week, so lace lovers, be sure you check the store in about a week or so.
We'll be skeining today, and taking photos. I'm hoping to have the store updated by tomorrow morning.
